Una’s original work for theatre includes One Good Turn, Alien Documentary and Madhouse. An Abbey Theatre commission, One Good Turn premiered on the main stage in June 2021. Alien Documentary won the Stewart Parker New Writing Award and premiered at Dublin Theatre Festival 2016. Madhouse, co-written with comedian PJ Gallagher, premiered to critical acclaim at Dublin Fringe Festival 2018 and completed a sold out national tour in Autumn 2019.
Una’s earlier practice of documentary style theatre includes the shows Victor&Gord, 565+ and Singlehood which played Vicar Street and The Olympia Theatre. Una has worked as a freelance director with the internationally renowned company Rimini Protokoll (100% Cork 2013, 100% Salford 2016) and as director and/or co-writer on productions with comedians PJ Gallagher and Joanne McNally including Separated at Birth and Bite Me.
