Stephanie Dufresne is a dancer, actor, and choreographer from the West of Ireland.
Stephanie graduated from the Rotterdam Dance Academy in 2012 and is a graduate of the Bow Street Academy for Screen-Acting in Smithfield. Since graduating Stephanie has combined her skills in acting and dance in music videos for Junior Brother, Talos, Crash Ensemble, Loah and Ye Vagabonds as well as in theatre performances such as The Red Shoes at the Gate Theatre, Dublin in 2017. Stephanie is a frequent collaborator of Junk Ensemble, Emma Martin/United Fall and Irish National Opera.
Stephanie’s first full-length dance show After Love premiered at Galway International Arts Festival in 2021. After Love was based on the poetry of Dani Gill, featured compositions by Adrian Hart and Anna Mullarkey and was directed by Laura Sheeran.
Stephanie is the third generation in her family to perform in the Opera and she made her opera directing debut in 2020 with Benedict Schlepper-Connolly’s Dust as part of Irish National Opera’s 20 Shots of Opera. Stephanie is currently developing a new work involving contemporary dance and traditional music, especially the uilleann pipes.
