Offaly
Ian Maleney is a writer from Offaly. His first book, Minor Monuments, was published by Tramp Press in 2019 and nominated for the Butler Literary Prize and the Michel Deon Prize. He has written for many publications in Ireland and elsewhere, including The Guardian, Esquire, and The New Statesman.
He is the founding editor of Fallow Media, an interdisciplinary online journal that publishes the best contemporary literature, music, and visual arts through unique digital presentations. He received the Arts Council Next Generation Bursary award in 2019, and was the Temple Bar Gallery & Studios writer-in-residence in 2020.
Ian has produced many radio documentaries and podcasts, including the acclaimed series The Witness: In His Own Words, which was selected as a podcast of the year by The Guardian, and Supply & Demand, a series about Dublin's housing crisis for the Dublin Inquirer. He has also worked on The Stand with Eamon Dunphy and Crime World with Nicola Tallant, two of Ireland's most popular podcasts. In his spare time he builds websites for great arts organisations like The Stinging Fly, The Dublin Review, Tramp Press, Paper Visual Art, and Skein Press.
